Company Background

Access Specialties was founded by Wayne Erickson in February of 1989. Wayne had over twenty-five years experience in the access control industry, including field service, sales and as a national training instructor. This experience involved a high degree of personal interaction with many types of individuals who used access control products, from company presidents to field technicians and operators. The needs and issues expressed to him were all part of the vision and experience he brought to Access Specialties.

Originally, Access Specialties started as a highly service oriented technical support and repair service to customers throughout the United States. Very shortly our role expanded to include developing and manufacturing products for which our customers expressed a need. As one of the first manufacturers to introduce a PC-based, then Windows-based access control system, we were able to develop our dealer channel though OEM partnerships. Today we manufacture a complete line of access control systems, controllers, input/output devices, and provide all major card technologies, photo imaging systems, dye-sublimation printers, CCTV and DVR systems and more.

In the age of rapidly evolving technology, integrating diverse technologies is an ever-growing need. Access Specialties has expanded its focus to provide products that smoothly integrate with existing technologies and standards, and are easy to operate. Access Security Integrator, Focal Point, Access Gold™, Photo Gold™, IP-based controllers, Reader Interface family, as well as all of our other products, live up to this high standard. Access Specialties continues its ongoing development efforts to round out a family of products designed to extend the capabilities of our present offerings, as well as utilize existing hardware investments already made by our customers.

In February of 2008, Access Specialties transitioned ownership to Lisa DeBettignies who continues the company’s focus on support and excellence. Our sincere conviction in customer service and responsiveness is attested to by the high quality companies that we are privileged to serve. We are looking forward to a bright future, and are enthusiastic about continuing to serve the security industry.
